About the National Secondary School Leadership Development Programme
The National Secondary School Leadership Development Programme is open to all Form 1 students who have proven excellent Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) results and outstanding achievements in extra-curricular activities. The programme is offered in conjunction with the extra-curricular syllabus at Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka (KYS). It is delivered through a combination of experiential workshops, community projects, on-line learning, personal reflection, coaching and mentoring.
About Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS)
A private, fully residential school founded in 1995, Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS), marked as a "Centre of Excellence", prides itself for producing straight-A students for both Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations, year after year. KYS conducts a yearly selection process that consists of a range of exams and test such as interviews, IQ tests, personality tests, presentations and more, to ensure an exclusive selection of only the best performing students in Malaysia.

The Secondary School Scholarship (full / partial*) will cover five years of the secondary school education, subject to Axiata Foundation's terms and conditions at Kolej Yayasan Saad. The coverage includes all tuition fees, text books, school uniforms and laptops**. A non-curriculum fund will be provided for students to participate in the school based extra-curricular activities.
In addition to the school related fees, Axiata Foundation will also bear the full cost of the Ax-Factor initiatives.
*Partial scholarship is subject to eligibility and household income

Application for the National Secondary School Programme must be submitted online before the due date. Applications open from 19 August to 6 September 2013.
To be a scholar under the National Secondary School Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen or a Malaysian permanent resident
The applicant must achieve a minimum of 5 As (Core Subjects: Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics and Science) in the recent Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) trial examinations
The applicant must consistently be a top ten student in Standard 4, 5 and 6 of his/her Primary School
The applicant must display an active participation in sports, clubs and societies, and/or the performing arts
The applicant must be proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, and any other spoken and written languages are favourable
Priority is given to students from low income and rural families
